The Tulsa Oilers kept the season alive Tuesday night with a 5-3 victory over the Laredo Bucks.
Tulsa scored three straight goals in the third period to propel them to the victory.
In the first period, Dylan Clarke got the Oilers on the board off a powerplay, but the Bucks fired back with a goal from Joseph Harcharik to tie the game 1-1.
The Oilers took the lead again off a Sean Erickson powerplay, only for it to diminish seconds later off a shot from Neil Trimm that bounced off of goalie Steve Christie and into the net.
Laredo scored the only goal of the second period off a tip from the stick of Colin McIntosh.
Trailing by a goal to start the third period, the Oilers wasted little time turning the tide back to their favor.
With another powerplay about to expire, Mike Ullrich shoveled a rebound over the goal line to tie the game at 3-3. Then 40 seconds later, Tulsa regained the lead for good. David Solway rebounded his own shot and swatted it home for the go-ahead score then Clarke fed the puck to Gary Steffes who slid a snap shot past Rondeau to provide a two-goal advantage.
The Oilers return to the ice Friday hosting the Texas Brahmas at 7:35 p.m.
