Monday saw record-breaking rainfall in Green Country, according to News On 6 meteorologist Alan Crone. Tulsa received 2.81 inches of rainfall Monday breaking the previous daily record of 1.15 inches of rain set on March 19, 1968.
Rainfall totals as of 8:30 a.m. Tuesday:
Tulsa: 3.9 inches
Pryor: 6 inches
Muskogee: 4.4 inches
Chandler: 4.1 inches
"Flash flooding will be a major concern today," Crone said Tuesday morning in his weather blog. "Rivers, creeks, and streams will more than likely experience major flooding in the days ahead."
The rain caused many headaches on the Tuesday morning commute for Tulsa drivers.

When will it stop raining?
"By this afternoon a lot of the storms and showers will start to move away from the region," Crone said Tuesday morning.
The National Weather Service office in Tulsa reports receiving several phone calls from residents who mistook a strong clap of thunder for an earthquake.
