Despite a stellar effort by Cam Schiller, Oral Roberts was handed its first loss in six games by Louisville 7-3 in the first game of the DRASH Alabama Classic.

Schiller tallied two hits and three RBI for ORU who moves to 6-6 on the season.

Schiller got things started for the Golden Eagles in the bottom of the first when he belted a two-run home run to right field that scored Brandon King from second.

Louisville's five runs in the second inning were a big blow for ORU. The Cardinals quickly loaded the bases and Kyle Gibson's flyout to right brought the first run in. Three hits and a Golden Eagle error later, Nick Ratajczak's hit scored two more and have Louisville a 5-2 lead.

The game saw four innings go scoreless until Ratajczak singled up the middle for Louisville to add another run making it 6-2.

Schiller once again came through for ORU in the eighth with a home run to right field, but the lack of offense was too little, too late.

Ratajczak added an insurance run for the Cardinals in the ninth with another RBI single up the middle for the 7-3 final score.

Schiller and Kevin Cho recorded two hits each for ORU who tallied only seven hits in the game.

Louisville's Ratajczak led all batters with four of the Cardinals 13 hits on the night.

Golden Eagle starter Mike Torrence went six and two-thirds innings with four strikeouts and six earned runs.

ORU looks to get back on track Saturday against East Carolina at 12:00 p.m.
