A grassfire near Kiefer had crews busy Tuesday. The fire was burning on a hill covered with thick brush, which made it hard for firefighters to get to.
Firefighters from Glenpool and Sapulpa were there to help the Kiefer firefighters. There are no structures on the hillside, but a house and some oil tankers are at the bottom.
Crews set a back fire to stop the main fire from getting to them, but of course their biggest challenge was Mother Nature.
"The main things just the winds. They keep changing directions on us through those hills so the fire line keeps changing and just the terrain, It's real rough back there," said Kiefer Asst. Fire Chief David Sixkiller.
All of the firefighters had been fighting other fires earlier in the day and say they are ready for some rain.
