In a couple of hours, supporters of all the Republican hopefuls in the presidential primary will gather at the state Republican watch party in Oklahoma City.
Rick Santorum supporters are anxious to see if the former Pennsylvania senator wins in Oklahoma. Santorum has visited the state several times, most recently this past weekend, in Broken Arrow.
Recent polls have shown him 11 percentage points ahead of former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney in our state, fueled mostly by support from social conservatives.
Oklahoma has 40 of the 419 Super Tuesday delegates of for grabs. Its not winner take all, if a candidate gets above 50 percent of the vote, they do get all the delegates. But otherwise, its proportional with the top three candidates above 15 percent, splitting delegates.
Three delegates go to each of the five congressional districts, the rest are based on the statewide vote.
Democrat voters can also vote in the presidential primary in Oklahoma. There are also smaller races around the state.
