The Oral Roberts Golden Eagle baseball team has two players honored by the Summit League this week as Cam Schiller was named the Player of the Week while Drew Bowen picked up the Pitcher of the Week award.
Schiller, a senior for ORU, led the Golden Eagles to a 4-0 record after batting .529 with four extra base hits during play last week. The second baseman had two three-hit games with a slugging percentage of 1.000 and on-base percentage of .526.
Bowen threw a complete game during Friday's 11-1 win over Alcorn State tallying 10 strikeouts on the night. The senior right hander surrendered just one earned run and one walk to lower his season ERA to 3.32. The nine inning complete game was his first of the season and fourth of his career.
Furthermore, Schiller went 3-for-5 with three runs scored, three RBI, a double and home run. For the week, the senior drove in nine runs, had seven RBI with two doubles, two homers and no strikeouts.
Oral Roberts returns to the field Friday March 9 against Louisville in Tuscaloosa Alabama. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
