The News On 6 has confirmed that current Booker T. Washington head coach Darrell Hall is in line to be the next head coach for the Midwest City Bombers.
In a phone conversation, Hall stated that there was "good chance" he would be making a move to Midwest City, replacing Steve Huff – who recently left the Bombers to take over a new program at College Station High School in Texas. Under Huff, the Bombers went 60-12, including four undefeated regular seasons.
Hall has been recommended to school board for the job, but still needs to be approved at a board meeting, which will be held March 12. Until that time, Hall is still committed to Booker T. Washington.
"It would be a great opportunity [to move to Midwest City]. They have a rich tradition," Hall said. "As of right now I'm a Hornet. Until I sign on the dotted line, I'm a Hornet."
Hall owns property in Oklahoma City and during his first season as the Booker T. Washington head coach he commuted from Oklahoma City to Tulsa. Last season, Hall rented a property near the University of Tulsa campus.
During his two seasons as the Hornets' head coach, Hall Booker T. to a 17-7 record, including a state championship in 2012. He moved to Booker T. Washington after winning the Class 4A title with the Star Spencer Bobcats, capping off a seven-year stint in which he went 57-28.
