Sometimes you just need a change. This isn't a story about an employee in a dead end job with no future.
The subject of this story had a perfectly good job she loved--she just found a better opportunity in her own pizza place.
Archana Patel is a single mom with an 11 year old and her own Top That Pizza franchise.
It's not that she was unemployed and unhappy. She was perfectly happy with a career in IT. She worked with computers, wrote programs, created reports… but.
"I wanted to be my own boss, and this was a good opportunity," Patel said.
The folks coming in for lunch seemed to like the idea of designing their own pizzas. There are two sizes and two prices--seems pretty simple.
Lori Walderich and her husband created the idea a little over a year ago. They have four franchises open in Tulsa and one coming in Texas.
Top That also hosts fund raisers. In fact, there's one Thursday night at the 41st Street location benefiting the Colon Cancer Coalition.
