Sunshine Short Lived.

Been awhile since we have seen much in the way of sunshine, so the sunny skies this afternoon were certainly welcome. Unfortunately, it is likely to be another couple of days before we see much more in the way of sunshine as clouds will be moving back in during the overnight hours and pretty much overcast skies are expected for Friday and Saturday. Initially, it will be the higher level clouds spreading back over us tonight and for Friday with the lower clouds arriving Friday night and Saturday. The lower clouds will also pose a chance of rain or showers beginning Friday night and through much of the day Saturday with the better chances further south.

The fair skies and light NE winds early tonight should allow temperatures to drop into the 30s so Friday morning will get off to a chilly start. The light NE wind tonight will become more SE during the morning and then back to the NE and becoming rather gusty for Saturday. This together with the lack of sunshine should keep us in the 50s for high temperatures Friday and the 40s to near 50 on Saturday. The rain chances will be ranging from 30% north to 60% south, but what does fall should be fairly light with rainfall totals generally of ¼" or less, and mostly less.

Most of the energy with this system is staying well south of us which is why the more southern counties will have the better chances of getting wet. As that storm system moves on eastward, we should be left with clearing skies and lots of sunshine for Sunday before the next system heads our way early next week.

Gusty southerly winds ahead of that system will quickly return moisture and clouds on Monday which will likely stick around for another couple of days. So, not much sunshine is expected for the early part of next week either. This will also provide another chance of showers and possibly some thunder, particularly into the day Tuesday, but which should have ended by Wednesday.

Wind shifts will accompany each of these systems over the next 5-7 days, but there is no really cold air waiting in the wings, so temperatures for much of next week look to be running milder than normal for this time of year.
