Oral Roberts senior Dominique Morrison has been honored by the Summit League as the men's basketball player of the month.
The forward from Kansas City, MO, received the conference honor for January after helping the Golden eagles to a 9-0 record.
The senior managed 38 points and seven rebounds while shooting 73 percent in ORU's win over South Dakota State.
He also tallied 27 points on two occasions in wins over Western Illinois and IPFW.
On the month, Morrison averaged 23.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game. He added eight assists and four steals while shooting 57 percent (66-of-115) from the field, 65 percent (24-of-37) from downtown and 90 percent (54-of-60) at the line.
Morrison scored in double figures in all nine games, including seven games with 20 or more points.
In addition, Morrison won the Summit League Player of the Week twice and won the Lou Henson Mid-Major Player of the Week Award all in the month of January.
ORU also recorded the second-best league winning streak in league history at 19 games.
For the women, South Dakota women's basketball player Amber Hegge was honored as the Female Athlete of the Month.
The Golden Eagles return to action Thursday hosting IUPUI at 7 p.m.
