Chickasha Police arrested a man accused of driving under the influence and striking the arresting officer with his prosthetic arm.

The police officer pulled over 50-year-old Casey Downes on Friday, February 3. The officer said when he approached Downes' truck, he smelled alcohol. The officer said Downes then performed poorly on a field sobriety test.

The officer said after the sobriety test, Downes hit him with his prosthetic arm and ran down the street. The officer caught up to Downes and said the suspect hit and kicked him during a struggle.

Eventually the officer took Downes into custody. During a search, the officer said he found methamphetamine and a drug pipe in Downes' car.

Police arrested Downes on several complaints, including DUI, assault on a police officer, and resisting arrest.
