Oral Roberts guard Kevi Luper continues to garner awards and rewrite the record books, most recently setting the all-time Summit League career scoring record Saturday during Oral Roberts' win over North Dakota State.

The junior guard totaled 41 points in the victory—the second highest total of her collegiate career. Those points boosted her career total to 2, 120, which is 15 more than former ORU star Krista Ragan who held the previous Summit League record of 2,105 points.

"I think it's just something that I really feel more honored and blessed that I was able to achieve, said Luper. " I couldn't have done it without my great team mates setting picks and my coaches giving me the green light to score so much and of course without God giving me the ability to do it."

Furthermore, Luper's 41 points in the 84-75 win over the Bison broke a 27-year old Bison Sports Arena single-game scoring record.

Luper says its even more special for her breaking the record as a junior especially because the record holders from the past have had four years to set the record and she broke it in three seasons.

"It was definitely not something I dreamed of happening. Of course I wanted to be prolific in my career at ORU, but it's nothing that I set out to be like the Summit League all-time leading scorer, said Luper. "It just kind of fell into my lap."

Luper, a native of Adair, Okla., went 16-for-28 from the field and 3-for-5 from behind the arc. The junior also went 6-for-6 from the free throw line.

Her average of 23.5 points per game ranks her fourth in the nation in scoring while her 3.9 steals per game rank her third overall.

But Luper is no stranger to breaking career scoring records.

During her high school years she set the Adair High School record with 2,070 career points after averaging 23.7 points per game as a senior.

Luper helped lead Adair High to a state championship in 2009 as well as a runner-up finish in 2007. Both seasons she earned tournament MVP honors and was named the Gatorade Player of the Year as well as the Jim Thorpe Player of the Year to name a few.

During her freshman year, Luper was the NCAA leader in steals per game and last season she became the first player in Division I history to lead the nation in both points (23.7) and steals (3.7).

Luper is also no stranger to the awards circuit.

The junior is a two-time Summit League Player of the Year as well as a two-time Associated Press All-American. In addition, Luper competed with the United States National Team at the Pan-American Games in Mexico last August.

Luper is also a candidate for the Naismith Trophy that is awarded annually to the top player in college basketball.

In addition to her work on the court, Luper's work in the classroom is also garnering attention.

Last week she was one of four Summit League athletes named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team.

Luper maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.49 and is majoring in Public Relations.

Oral Roberts is now 15-8 on the season and 9-3 in Summit League.

Luper and the Golden Eagles return to action Monday night on the road against South Dakota State at 7 p.m.
