While a lot of folks fret getting older, some Tulsa are celebrating their age. People at the Broadmoor Retirement Community held their Mighty 90s event Friday.
Family and friends of 11 residents gathered for all the fun. Those who'd made it to the ripe old age of 90 were treated like royalty, seated at the heads of the tables which were all decked out with candles, flowers and special place cards.
"This is part of the oldest and greatest generation," said Pamela Ann Bell, marketing and leasing director.
"They have so many wonderful stories. We've got war heroes here. We have moms and dads that have raised great kids that are doing things, and they deserve to be honored and respected."
They even crowned a king and queen -- Owen Brown and Mildred Kellenberger -- the two oldest residents at Broadmoor.
