Tulsa Police arrested two runaways from a Tulsa behavioral institute after they get into trouble in south Tulsa early Friday morning.

Police say the teenagers, one male and one female and both 15, ran away from Shadow Mountain Behavioral Health Systems at 61st and Sheridan.

At 2:15 a.m. a resident of The Lakes Apartments in the 8000 block of South Wheeling spotted them breaking into his car.

Police say the resident confronted the pair. The male teenager pulled out a gun, but police say the resident recognized it as a BB gun because of the orange cap on its barrel.

A fight ensued and police say the male teen pulled a knife and stabbed the resident. He was treated at the scene by EMSA paramedics.

Tulsa Police say both teens ran across Riverside Drive and into the River Spirit Casino parking lot at 81st and Riverside.

Tulsa Police responded with a K9 officer and a helicopter and arrested both teens.

Police say the female teen appeared to be intoxicated and was taken by EMSA to the hospital to be checked out.

Tulsa Police say the pair could face assault charges.
