TULSA, Oklahoma -- An Oklahoma couple is back on the Home Front for the holidays. Donald Wolfe and Jennifer Gaches landed at Tulsa International Saturday night to a very excited crowd.
The two Marines are stationed in Okinawa, Japan and haven't been back to Oklahoma in nearly two years.
"It's amazing," Wolfe said. "It's everything I ever wanted. I was just waiting for so long to finally make it home to see my mother and my father and everyone else."
Gaches said the lack of a white Christmas was a little disappointing.
"I was really hoping to see snow and stuff, but that's OK. I'm just happy to be home and see all my family and everything," she said.
For Gaches' father, however, holiday weather was the least of his concerns.
"It just means everything to have her home for the holidays. It's a great opportunity for us to see her again and it's just an answer to all of our prayers to get her home and get her home safely," Alfred Gaches said.
Gaches said this is going to be a trip he'll never forget because his little girl is getting married while she's here.
And the couple said they're definitely making time to hit Sonic and Arby's. They say they really miss not having those in Japan.
