STILLWATER, Oklahoma – As Mike Gundy's successes become bigger on paper, the questions also begin to get bigger.
One of those questions that Gundy said he knew was coming was the issue of his contract moving forward at OSU.
Gundy's base salary was just more than $2 million this season, which puts him essentially tied for sixth place among the 10 Big 12 coaches.
But a Big 12 Championship and BCS bowl berth have many speculating that a raise will soon follow.
Gundy has consistently called his position with Oklahoma State his "New York Yankees" job, meaning there is no place he would rather be, assuming his income matches up consistently with his success.
"They couldn't give me enough years for me to sign on (with OSU)," Gundy said at a presser on Monday. "I wouldn't look at something and say, ‘That's too many years.'
"So I've already made that commitment. I want to be here for a long time, and hopefully we can get that worked out."
Gundy has hired an agent and said that agent has done all the negotiating and talking with the university to this point.
"I'm hoping we can get something worked out real soon," Gundy said.
Check out the videos of Gundy's Monday press conference as he talks about his contract, BCS bowls, playing against Stanford and plenty more.
