Despite the holidays, construction work continues in Tulsa on the I-44 widening project.
If you're traveling eastbound on I44 near the Riverside and Peoria corridor the Oklahoma Department of Transportation made several changes over the weekend that will affect your commute.
The widening project affects just about everything around it including ramps and roads near the interstate highway.
Eastbound I-44 on-ramp from Riverside Drive is now open. Eastbound I-44 off-ramp to Peoria Avenue is open. Eastbound I-44 on-ramp from Peoria Avenue has been shifted as has eastbound I-44 off-ramp to Lewis Avenue.
ODOT says remember to use caution while traveling along I-44 near Harvard Avenue, 51st Street and the frontage road, because crews are working in that area.
For more information you can click on the Daily Detour for the latest on construction in the area.
ODOT hopes to have everything finished by 2013.
