Former college football coach Lou Holtz was the keynote speaker at the University of Tulsa's 2011 fall commencement Saturday morning.
A small group of graduates received their degrees. Holtz said he has spoken at many commencements but was favorably impressed with TU.
"I've never seen any where the graduates showed as much dignity and respect for the university in the process as the ones did here," he said.
"I was very impressed with the whole atmosphere."
Holtz said that at age 75, he's learned a few lessons to pass on to the graduates.
"Life's a matter of choices," he said. "Do the right thing; do the best you can and show people you care."
The retired football coach turned sportscaster and motivational speaker will return to Tulsa in February, 2012, for a "Get Motivated" seminar at the BOK Center.
