DALLAS, Texas -- The Bell Helicopters Armed Forces Bowl made its selection Sunday, and the Tulsa Golden Hurricane will take on the BYU Cougars in the annual bowl, which pays tribute to the nation's men and women in the armed forces.
Tulsa actually finished the season second in the C-USA, but by virtue of Southern Mississippi's win over Houston in the conference championship game slid the Golden Hurricane back the third bowl spot in the conference.
TU finished the conference schedule with a 7-1 record, rattling off seven-straight games before a Week 13 loss to the Houston Cougars.
Brigham Young closed the season with a 41-20 win over Hawaii on the road, moving their record to 9-3 during the regular season. The Cougars' have been solid on both sides of the ball this season, averaging more than 30 points per game and nearly 411 yards per contest, while holding opponents to 20 points and 316 yards per game.
The Golden Hurricane will be the home team for the matchup, which will take place at 11 a.m. December 30 at Ford Stadium in Dallas.
