The IRS says just under a thousand Oklahomans are due refunds. That refund total for Oklahoma is $846,323.
The Internal Revenue Service says they were unable to deliver tax refunds to 946 taxpayers with addresses in 65 of Oklahoma's 77counties.
The average refund is $895.
Taxpayers who believe their refund check may have been returned to the IRS as undelivered, should use the "Where's My Refund?" tool on IRS.gov.
The tool will provide the status of their refund and, in some cases, instructions on how to resolve delivery problems.
Looking ahead to next year, the IRS recommends that taxpayers file their tax returns electronically, because e-file eliminates the risk of lost paper returns. E-file also reduces errors on tax returns and speeds up refunds.
