Broken Arrow Opts For Private Snow Plow Contractors

Broken Arrow's ready for winter weather over the next few months.

The city's decided to hire private contractors to plow neighborhood streets in the event of another big snowstorm instead of buying the equipment to do it themselves.

The city says the plowing equipment could cost more than $1 million. Hiring private contractors for 24 hours would only cost about $60,000.
