CATOOSA, Oklahoma – Running back Cole Scheulen carried the Catoosa Indians to a 27-0 blowout of Glenpool Friday to advance to the state semifinals.
The Indians got off to a quick start, mounting a drive on their first possession of the game that ended with a touchdown pass from Austin Potter to Jacob Space. After that, Scheulen accounted for all of the game's scoring.
He scored his first touchdown with a 27-yard scamper in the first half, and Catoosa carried a 14-0 lead into halftime. But Scheulen was not done.
The Indians recovered two fumbles in the fourth quarter, and Scheulen took advantage with touchdowns after both. He finished with more than 200 yards and three of the team's four scores on the night.
The Indians will now move on to the semifinals, where they will face Clinton. The Tornadoes also rolled in their second-round game, blowing out Hilldale 49-14.
