TULSA, Oklahoma – The Tulsa men's basketball team began the season Friday with a 65-49 victory over Arkansas-Little Rock.
The teams started the game close, trading the lead four times in the first 10 minutes. But the Golden Hurricane pulled away after that.
Tulsa did not go on any extended scorings runs in the first half, but slowly increased its lead to 28-22 at halftime. The Golden Hurricane then started the second half on a 9-1 run and coasted for the rest of the game.
A total of 11 different Tulsa players saw the court, and 10 of them scored. Jordan Clarkson led the way with 15 points, while Scottie Haralson scored 12 and Kodi Maduka added 11.
The Hurricane will have a quick turnaround between its first two games. It will face Southeastern Louisiana at 2 p.m. Sunday before traveling to take part in the Charleston Classic starting on Thursday.
