Active Pattern Now In Oklahoma

Temperatures today will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s with gusty south winds and occasional showers and storms.  Some storms may be severe later this evening and overnight across eastern OK. 

We're moving into a very active weather pattern for the next 24 hours.  Showers and storms will be likely at times, and some of these storms could be severe.  The higher chance for severe storms will probably remain across western OK today and the shift eastward Tuesday.  Some showers and storms this morning will produce pockets of heavy rainfall.  Some flooding has been reported and detected this morning across far south-central Ok where 4 to 6 inches of rain has fallen overnight.  

A powerful upper level system located to our west this morning will bring a strong upper level wave into the region today and tonight helping to shove a surface boundary into the state.  This boundary will not clear eastern OK until Tuesday afternoon.   

There will also be a chance for some training of echoes over the next 12 hours with the potential for some 2 to 3 inch rainfall across portions of eastern OK.  This will not occur across the entire area, but rainfall is expected across the entire area before the system exits Tuesday afternoon. 

After the system moves eastward Tuesday afternoon, we're in fine shape through the end of the week with cooler and drier air moving across northeastern OK.
