UPDATE: Tulsa fire investigators found a body inside the home. They are waiting on the state Medical Examiner's Office to identify the victim.
TULSA, Oklahoma -- Firefighters have found a body inside a home destroyed by fire early Thursday morning.
Tulsa firefighters were dispatched to the house in the 200 block of West Tecumseh at about 5:30 a.m.
They arrived to find flames coming out of the roof.
Firefighters were told an elderly man lived in the house and was still inside when the fire broke out.
Firefighters had initially tried to enter the burning home, but the intense fire prevented that.
The roof of the home collapsed afterwards.
Tulsa Fire officials say the fire is suspicious since it spread so quickly and engulfed the home before firefighters arrived.
