DEWEY COUNTY, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say alcohol played a role in the death of an Oakwood woman early Tuesday in Dewey County.
Ursula Joy McDonald was thrown from her GMC utility vehicle in a rollover wreck that took place about 100 yards from her home.
McDonald, 46, was driving on Jennyville Road about a mile north of U.S. Highway 270 when her vehicle left the road and began to roll. The GMC struck a utility pole, rolled again and hit a tree. McDonald was ejected from the vehicle.
The exact time of the wreck is unknown, according to Trooper John Jones, but McDonald was expected to get home before 5 a.m. and was almost there when she wrecked.
McDonald was not wearing a seat belt. Troopers say her ability to drive was impaired by drinking.
The cause of the wreck is pending investigation, according to the report.
