TULSA, Oklahoma – The Tulsa Golden Hurricane has been on a roll since entering conference play, and that did not change Saturday against SMU.
The Hurricane continued its strong play on both sides of the ball, particularly on defense. Tulsa held SMU to its smallest yardage total of the season while forcing five turnovers.
On offense, Willie Carter recorded career highs with 13 receptions and 173 yards, including a long touchdown. Alex Singleton added three rushing touchdowns, and the Hurricane scored more than 37 points for the fourth consecutive game.
Since facing the toughest non-conference schedule in the nation, Tulsa has cruised through Conference-USA competition. The Hurricane is 4-0 in C-USA play and tied for first place in the conference with Houston, which is ranked No. 13 in the nation in the latest BCS poll.
