TULSA, Oklahoma -- Some of the less fortunate in our area got some much needed help Tuesday.

With the cut of a ribbon, the John 3:16 Mission officially opened its new $2.5 million feeding center.

The Mission hopes the New Life Hall will help them better meet the needs of the hungry and homeless here in Tulsa.

"The city centers always become a place where homeless people congregate; we need great places for them to find their way out of that lifestyle," said Pastor Steve Whitaker.

The 12,000 square foot addition has the largest commercial grade kitchen that serves the homeless in Oklahoma.

New Life Hall will be able to serve nearly 800 meals a day and nearly 300,000 meals year-round.
