Volunteers Needed To Help Pack Care Boxes For Overseas Troops

OWASSO, Oklahoma -- Two All-American groups will get together to help the troops Saturday – and they could use some help. Tri-County Blue Star Mothers of Owasso and Owasso Cub Scouts Den No. 8 with Pack No. 888 will assemble care packages for troops overseas.

"The Tri-County Blue Star Mothers rely heavily on the generosity of the community to help obtain the items for the care packages and the volunteerism for the packing of the care packages," said Kimberly Graham.

"We are always in need of assistance."

The groups are meeting at Dirty Dawg Carwash and Storage, 10950 E. 116th Street North in Owasso starting at 8:30 a.m.

If you can't help assemble the care packages, you can drop off needed items at the following locations.

Owasso

  • Toiletries
  • Individually wrapped candy and gum
  • Breakfast items
  • Books, magazines
  • Letter writing items
  • Batteries
  • Sunglasses and sunscreen
  • Toilet paper, deodorant and baby wipes
  • Crossword and puzzle books
  • Toothpaste, tooth brushes, mouth wash and dental floss
  • Lip balm and eyewash
