TULSA, Oklahoma – Friday Night Flights saw a defensive battle and an offensive blowout on Friday around the Tulsa area.
That defensive battle worked out nicely for the Pryor Tigers, as they pulled off a 14-6 upset of top-ranked East Central.
The Tigers scored first, going up 7-0, but East Central's Mitch Moore hit a field goal to cut it to 7-3, and that score carried into halftime.
Moore came through again in the third, hitting a 32-yard field goal to cut the lead to 7-6.
But Pryor would hold East Central without a touchdown on the night, scoring once again to pull off their final margin.
The Tigers improved to 6-1 on the year and will head to Coweta next weekend.
East Central is also 6-1 now and will face Tahlequah on the road.
Wagoner didn't have nearly as much of a hard time in its game, topping Oologah 55-17.
Wagoner's Kevin Peterson went off with first half touchdown runs of 76, 27, 36 and 89 yards.
The Bulldogs had the game well in hand at halftime with a 42-7 margin before strolling to their final score.
Wagoner stayed undefeated and will visit Catoosa on Friday.
Oologah fell to 3-4 and will host Miami next weekend.
