Broken Arrow Man Arrested For DUI After Hitting Horse And Rider

BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -- Broken Arrow Police say a horse was killed and its rider badly hurt when a pickup truck hit them early Thursday morning.

Police say Michael Wick, 20, of Broken Arrow was riding a horse westbound on New Orleans just east of 177th East Avenue at about midnight when the pickup truck struck him and the horse.

The driver, 35-year-old Andrew Caldwell of Broken Arrow, was arrested for DUI.

Wick was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
