Expect a sunny and mild afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 70s. Breezy northwest winds will persist through the early afternoon with an elevated fire danger.
I'm back in the saddle after a couple of days of vacation. Thanks to Mike for filling-in during the morning show. Folks who don't normally work the morning show hours don't work the morning hours on purpose! So when they fill-in during the mornings, it's not always the easiest thing to do, but Mike G. does a super great job. Thanks Mike!
The weather appears calm for the next few days. We had a front that slid over the area yesterday afternoon, but the low level moisture was shunted eastward and showers and storms formed on the OK-Arkansas state line.
A weak front may move across Northern OK Saturday morning for a few hours providing a wind shift before the winds veer back from the southwest. Temperatures this weekend will be mild with cool morning lows and above seasonal afternoons in the lower or mid 80s.
The next system does not appear to arrive until early next week, but again, the big issue will be moisture content and whether or not we'll see any significant rain or storm chances. At this point, the chances appear to be slim.
This next system will have a little more in the way of seasonally cool air and we'll expect a pretty good cool down Monday or Tuesday of next week.
The "longer range" extended indicates the possibility of a system around Oct. 22nd or so. I wouldn't hold your breath.

The ALCS is absolutely wonderful. Regardless if you're a Tiger fan or a Rangers backer, this has turned out to be an excellent series of baseball. The Rangers can close out the series today, but Detroit will try to get it back to Texas.
