TULSA, Oklahoma -- A last-second score from Owasso gave the Ram's a 41-38 win over the Union Redskins, ending not only Union's 94-game, 13-year district win streak, but the Rams' 25-year losing streak to the Redskins as well.
Trailing 38-34 with just 2:38 remaining on the clock, the Rams took over at their own five-yard line with a shot to take the lead. Owasso strung together a 17-play, 90-yard drive – including a fourth down conversion – to stop the clock with a spike at the five-yard line with just 12 seconds left on the clock.
Quarterback Kason Key connected with Keon Hatcher for a five-yard score with just 10 seconds left on the clock to take a 41-38 lead.
On the ensuing drive, the Redskins connected on one pass play, but were unable to score, securing the win for the Rams.
Owasso will now return home for a matchup with the 5-1 Stillwater Pioneers, while Union will try to get back in the saddle on the road against Ponca City.
