The cold front is located well south of the state this morning.  North breezes continues to advect dry air across the area with local dew points in the mid to upper 30s.  This dry air will cool down rapidly tonight with Saturday morning lows in the mid 40s likely across a large area of northern OK.  Some upper 30s will be possible along the OK-Kansas state line with clear sky and light wind.

The weekend pattern still appears very mild with morning lows in the 40s and highs in the mid to upper 70s, but the upper air pattern will begin changing early next week.

The trough located near the Aleutian Islands will begin slowly moving eastward with the mid level ridge currently west of us moving eastward early next week. This will result in a trough-ridge displacement from the current pattern and allow for a chance of showers and storms sometime next week.  The operational models are now clustering a time period of Thursday through Saturday for the main impact of the system, but as I stated yesterday, this output will more than likely change a few times between now and late next week.

 The bottom line:

A rather quiet and mild pattern for the next few days before things get active late next week.
