TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Tulsa Marine is on a mission to get his military-issued equipment back after it was stolen from his locked truck.

Corporal Patrick Jordan works a full-time job and got home to southeast Tulsa late Tuesday. Wednesday, he found his truck damaged and equipment missing.

"I was kind of in a state of shock. My doors were open, my hood was up, I don't know what exactly happened," Jordan explains.

The criminal had popped the hood and actually stole the battery so no lights would turn on in the truck while he rummaged.

"I was a little frustrated, to say the least," he said.

The thief took Jordan's I-Phone on the center console and four pieces of Marine-issued equipment from the back seat -- a flak jacket, a combat jacket, his main pack and a camelback.

"Oh it's a great headache, number one, because I know someone is running around with my flak jacket thinking that they're brave," he said.

Jordan admits he shouldn't have left valuables inside, but never imagined someone would steal what he uses to serve our country.

"Kinda makes you realize what's exactly is going on in your neighborhood, especially when it hits so close to home," Jordan said.

Jordan has been in the Marines for six years now. He loves what he does and hates that he's now a victim of a common crime. He hopes his neighbors may have seen something.

"I went out and throughout the whole neighborhood, I handed out flyers of the missing gear that I had and my phone number and name," he said.

Jordan says he's thought about what he would say to the burglar.

"You reap what you sow," he said.

Cpl Jordan already filed a police report and hopes to reach out to local pawn shops. He's speaking with his commanders to figure out how to replace those items if he can't find the stolen property.
