WILBURTON, Oklahoma -- A Talihina man is in the Latimer County jail in connection with three separate arson fires over the weekend in that county.
Latimer County Sheriff Robert Brooks says deputies investigating a fire at Red Oak Schools led them to 38-year-old Randy Keith.
Keith is suspected of trying to start a school bus on fire at the school. When that failed, Brooks says Keith then set a Red Oaks School building on fire.
That fire did minimal damage to the school.
Brooks says Keith is also connected to a small fire at an apartment where an elderly woman lived. No one was hurt in that fire.
Brooks says Randy Keith was serving a deferred sentenced out of LeFlore County for second degree arson.
"Through talks with the Fire Marshall's investigator, I expect three separate counts of arson to be filed within this week," Sheriff Brooks said.
Keith remains in jail on complaints of 1st and 2nd degree arson.
