Tulsa firefighters and U.S. Cellular representatives are holding a free event to give fire safety and other tips to area parents and children.

Tulsa Firefighters Hold Safety Event For Tulsa Area Parents, Kids

TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Tulsa Fire Department is hosting a free safety event for Tulsa area parents and kids Saturday, August 27. Get cell phone and fire safety tips at the U.S. Cellular store,7370 Olympia Avenue in Tulsa.

The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

U.S. Cellular representatives will instruct parents in signing up for Amber Alerts, safety-related smartphone apps and the importance of programming "In Case of Emergency" (ICE) contacts into a cell phone.

Tulsa firefighters will share tips on fire safety. Free DNA kits will also be available.

The event is co-hosted by U.S. Cellular.
