Gundy - He's a man! You're FIRED!

For the record, I LOVE this story about Mike Gundy…. ALLEDGEDLY firing a guy who showed up to work on his house wearing a Sooners shirt. That is AWESOME!

Disclaimer: I'm not an OU or OSU fan. I'm impartial. I just cover their games. So, don't come at me with your pro-Cowboys, anti-Sooners takes. They're just wrong.

I can't get enough of this guy! First, the epic "I'm a man, I'm 40!" rant a few years back. Now, firing a dude for wearing OU gear.

Classic.

I am backing Gundy here. How dare the guy sue OSU's coach for getting canned. He says he didn't know that he grabbed an OU shirt before leaving for work that morning. That may be true. Maybe he was trying to get under Gundy's skin and stir up some trouble. Maybe it was an accident. The suit says the plaintiff offered to turn the shirt inside out.

You can look at it one of two ways: 1) Why else would you do something stupid like that? Or 2) Maybe he just didn't realize it!

Before he passed away, would you have shown up to George Steinbrenner's house to clean his pool in a Red Sox shirt? Only if you expected to catch a beat down from the Boss. Nobody's cleaning Bill Self's house in a Mizzou jacket. Do you think Bobby Bowden's maid is a Gators fan?

What if the tables were turned here? Nobody can mow BOB STOOPS' lawn in a Cowboys t-shirt!!! Stoops would have treated the dude the same way Gundy treated his employee. That's what the guy was… an employee. If you're hired to do a job, you can be fired by the boss. Plain and simple.

Did this guy got what he deserved? He may have gotten off easy. I bet Nick Saban would have clocked the mail man if he showed up to drop off the bills in an Auburn hat.
