TULSA, Oklahoma -- A railroad employee died after a train car hit her all-terrain vehicle early Thursday morning in west Tulsa.
The accident happened around 2 a.m. in the BNSF Cherokee Yard according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Troopers say an unoccupied flat car was rolling on the tracks and struck an ATV at a crossing near 23rd and Southwest Boulevard.
The OHP says Deborah Beeler, 39, was a passenger on the ATV which was crossing the tracks. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
It took Tulsa Fire two hours to free her body from the wreckage.
The ATV's driver, 27-year-old Randy Battenfield, was not injured.
BNSF uses a gravity system to send individual railroad cars down the track to form a train in the yard.
