TULSA, Oklahoma — The University of Tulsa is set to open football camp and this year there are a handful of new faces.
A total of 29 newcomers reported to the start of Tulsa's football training camp on Tuesday.
Among those players was former Nebraska quarterback Cody Green who recently transferred to Tulsa.
Tulsa's veteran players will arrive Wednesday and the first practice of the year is scheduled for Thursday morning.
Head coach Bill Blankenship told the AP he plans to spend the first 10 days identifying young players who can make a difference and put them on the fast track. The Golden Hurricane will then prepare for two or three of this season's opponents before focusing the final two weeks on facing Oklahoma.
Tulsa's first game of the season is set for Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. against the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman.
