Bartlesville Man Killed In Highway 75 Head-On Crash

VERA, Oklahoma -- A Bartlesville man was killed in a head-on collision early Saturday morning.

It happened on Highway 75 just west of Vera.

According to an accident report, 34-year-old Sergio Alvares was driving a Toyota Corolla northbound in the wrong direction when he hit a southbound truck head-on.

Alvares was pinned for more than two hours and pronounced dead on the scene. The 24-year-old driver of the truck suffered only minor injuries to his leg, the report said.

The report states Alvares was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
