LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas – Saturday's game between the Drillers and Travelers was eerily similar to the previous night's game.
This one just had a different result.
After topping the Travelers 4-0 on Friday, the Drillers dropped a 4-0 contest on Saturday night in Arkansas.
Tulsa never saw any semblance of an offensive burst during the game, registering just five hits but not converting on any of them.
Arkansas scored three of its four runs in the bottom of the fourth.
The story of the night was former Edmond Memorial High School and OU pitcher Garrett Richards, who now plays for the Travelers.
Richards threw eight innings and gave up four hits, striking out nine and not allowing a run. Richards moved to an impressive 12-1 on the year with his performance against Tulsa.
Cory Riordan got the loss for the Drillers, giving up three runs in six innings.
The two teams will meet again at 6 p.m. on Sunday in Little Rock.
