Arrest Made In 2006 Fire That Destroyed Tulsa Athletic Club

TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Broken Arrow man was arrested Thursday and charged with arson in connection to a 2006 fire that destroyed the Tulsa Athletic Club.

Sammy Joe Perryman was in federal court Thursday and faces additional charges of fraud for allegedly filing bogus claims to his insurance company after the fire.

The massive fire destroyed the Tulsa Athletic Club on January 22, 2006, and caused more than a million dollars in damages.

The federal indictment further alleges Perryman concealed the sale of certain property from a bankruptcy court.

Perryman was released on a $20,000 bond. A trial date has not been set.
