BIXBY, Oklahoma – The Broken Arrow Tigers will have a chance to win their second state title in school history after beating Jenks 20-8 Friday.

The Tigers got off to good start against Jenks, putting up four runs in the top of the second and two more runs in the fourth. But their 6-0 lead did not last long, as Jenks broke it open in the bottom of the fourth. That’s when the Trojans put up six runs to tie the game. After a scoreless fifth inning, the top of the sixth became the difference in the game. The Tigers would launch four run home runs in the inning, including two by Archie Bradley (one of those, a grand slam). When the sixth inning was over, Broken Arrow had put up 14 runs. After surrendering two runs in the bottom of the sixth, pitcher Nick Pettus closed out the Trojans for the run-rule victory.

Broken Arrow will face Owasso in a winner-take-all state title game Saturday at ONEOK Field at noon. Archie Bradley will be on the mound for the Tigers, but Dylan Bundy is not expected to start for the Rams. It’s likely that Owasso’s number two starter, Phillip Wilson, will get the nod.
