TULSA, Oklahoma – It was wild finish at Bill Allen Fieldhouse on Saturday, as Thomas Edison upset No. 4 East Central 52-50 to advance to state.

After Tony Hall sunk a game-tying three for the Cardinals with just under 10 seconds left in the game, disaster struck for East Central. On the ensuing Edison possession, Hall fouled Don Simmons with less than three second left to put Simmons on the free-throw line.

Simmons, who finished with a game-high 21 points, made both free throws to put the Eagles ahead 52-50. East Central would have one more shot as time expired, but a long 3-pointer bounced off the back of the rim to send the Eagles to state.

The Cardinals were led in scoring by Hall and senior forward Drew Wilson, each contributing 13 points. With the win, Edison will play in the state quarterfinals on Thursday at Oral Roberts University.
