Top Seed Calumet Cruises to Next Round
Lady Chieftans scored in bunches in 68-43 win against Caney.

Top-seeded Calumet won its Class A Quarterfinal matchup easily 68-43 over Caney. The Lady Chieftans advanced to the state semifinals for the second straight year.
Caney kept it close after the first quarter, as Calumet led by one, 12-11, but the Lady Chieftans broke it open in the 2nd quarter and led 34-17 at half. Calumet extended the lead to 19 after three quarters.
Mariah Miles hit four 3-pointers and led all scorers with 22 points. Emily Eaton added 15 points, Megan Snyder scored 11 and Katelyn Richardson had 10. Caney was led by Macie Crites with 14 points Ivana Jakubcova.
Calumet will face Chattanooga in the State Semifinals for the second straight year. Chattanooga won it 60-50 in 2010. The rematch is schedule for 7:30 p.m. at the Big House.
Caney finishes the season at 25-3.
