Southeast Ends Tahlequah's Season With 30-Point Blowout

TULSA, Oklahoma – The Tahlequah Tigers got overmatched in round one in a 67-37 loss. The Oklahoma City Southeast Spartans confused the Tigers with constant full court pressure in the postseason win.

The Spartans were able to score from anywhere on the floor in the first half but really played well on the defensive end. The Spartans held Tahlequah to just six points in the second quarter and took a 37-17 lead into the locker room.

Southeast entered the playoffs with a less-than-impressive record after getting beat up by some bigger schools from 6A in non-district competition. They overpowered the Tigers from the opening tip in the first round win. William Brewer led the team with 21 points. Jay Gogue and Troi Jordan each scored 14 for the Spartans.

Tahlequah got 10 points from Lain Wright in the loss. The Tigers could not stay out of foul trouble in the second half. Southeast did most of its damage from the free throw line in the last ten minutes.

The Tigers’ season ends with the loss.

Southeast advances to face East Central Saturday night. The game will tip from East Central High School at 7 p.m.
