Demons Defeat Dewar on Senior Night

The Beggs Lady Demons outlasted the Lady Dragons after a tough first half of play.

BEGGS, Oklahoma--Dewar traveled up the road to Beggs Saturday night, and the Lady Demons outplayed the Lady Dragons in the Beggs Special Event Center, winning 79-64 on Senior Night.

The 3A No. 17 Lady Dragons started off well, leading 20-12 by the end of the first quarter but things tightened up in the second quarter and at halftime Dewar led 37-36.

The Lady Demons broke away in the third quarter and with eight minutes to play were ahead 59-49.

When the buzzer sounded, the final score was 79-64, as Beggs handed Dewar its second loss of the season.

Cheyenne Been led the Dewar offense with 15 points, Starr Simmons added 12, Ashley Holuby totaled 10.

For Beggs, Casey Miller was the leading scorer with 29 points while Karissa Berryhill had 22 and Audra Harris added 12.

The 13-5 Lady Demons will play Stroud at home for their district matchup Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. while the 2A No. 8 Lady Dragons are now 18-2 and will host either Wellston or Depew Saturday night in district action at 6:30 p.m.
