TULSA, Oklahoma – Booker T. Washington Hornets running back Isaac Bennett has narrowed his college choices down to three: Louisiana-Monroe, Arkansas and Tulsa.

“All of them have nice programs,” said the standout rusher. “They’re not too far away. My family can still come see me.”

Bennett will take an official visit to Louisiana-Monroe on January 21st and another just up the road to Tulsa on the 28th. He plans to wait until National Signing Day, February 2nd, to make chose a school.

The disarray in the Golden Hurricane offices hasn’t fazed Bennett at all. He says he is still heavily considering Tulsa, and hasn’t been caught up in all the rumors and speculation about who will replace Todd Graham as the team’s head coach.

Reports have Arkansas assistant Garrick McGeepegged as Graham’s replacement. McGee works for one of Bennett’s top choices and could soon be the leader at another, but McGee’s final landing spot doesn’t matter to the former Hornet great.

“I don’t think it would (affect my choice),” Bennett smiled. “It’d be nice if he would be at TU as the head coach there. I don’t think it’d change my opinion.”

McGee is a Booker T. Washington and University of Oklahoma graduate. Fellow Hornet Felix Jones attended Arkansas and now plays for the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL.

Bennett scored 17 touchdowns as a senior and rushed for over 1,300 yards. He plans to play running back at the next level and can’t wait to start his college career.

All verbal commitments made by high school players are non-binding until a national letter of intent is signed.
