TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Booker T. Washington Hornets built a big lead, but had to hold off a second half rally from East Central to hold on for a 54-44 victory on Friday night.
Finding themselves down as many as 20, the Cardinals turned up the heat defensively and were able to get the lead down to six points. East Central forced 17 Booker T. turnovers on the night.
However, the Hornets shot much better from the floor and were able to hold on for the ten point win. Korey Billbury led the Hornets with 26 points. Booker T. shot 45 percent from the field while East Central struggled, especially from behind the arc, where they were just 2 of 11.
